New Self-Paced Online PD Course: Technology across the Autism Spectrum

In conjunction with Autism Awareness Month, we're excited to announce a new self-paced Atomic Catalyst course entitled "Technology across the Autism Spectrum."

From documenting and analyzing behavior to developing social skills, technology can play a huge roll in assisting students with ASD to thrive at school, home, and in the community. This course will cover tools and strategies you can use to help with communication, self-regulation, collaborative behavior analysis across environments, and bringing social stories to life. Many of the tools discussed can be applied to mobile technology, such as iPads, so students have social skill support no matter where they go.

Transforming Classroom Lessons to Teach Common Core Standards

This new Atomic Catalyst instructor-led PD course is centered around Atomic TechCore’s Lesson Wizard, where classroom lessons are created that empower students to achieve the rigor of the Common Core State Standards.

Upon completion of the course, learners will:

Unpack the Common Core State Standards identifying the knowledge and skills called for in the standards they need to teach.
Identify classroom activities that will help develop an enduring understanding.
Design 3 lessons that meet specific CCSS.
Evaluate the process of transforming an existing lesson to meet CCSS and creating an original lesson that meets the standards.

Atomic Learning Recognized as Top Online PD Provider

District Administration and EdTech Digest have named Atomic Learning’s online professional development solution as a top product in recent award announcements.

Atomic Learning was named one of 100 winners of the District Administration Readers’ Choice Top 100 Products of 2011. The prestigious acknowledgement is given annually to K12 education products that have supported education innovation. The winners were selected by the editors of District Administration from hundreds of nominations submitted by readers, including school superintendents and district-level directors in districts across the United States. The winning products were determined by the quantity of nominations received per product, as well as an evaluation of product quality based upon readers’ nominations and explanations.
